Trinity Church and School, located Downtown at 123 East Livingston Street, will host its 3rd annual Downtown BBQ Cookoff and Family Festival on Saturday, August 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
The end-of-summer event features a BBQ cookoff showcasing professional and amateur teams from the Central Florida area, as well as a Kids Play Zone and live entertainment, featuring The Johnny Bulford Band from Nashville. The supervised Kids Zone will showcase a variety of wet and dry games and activities to entertain children of all ages for a $10 play-all-day wristband with a hot dog lunch pack included.<\/p>\n
Up to 30 teams of local grillers will compete in three meat categories for the $2,900 prize\u2014 pulled pork, chicken, ribs \u2014 with the challenge of coming up with a unique and award-winning sauce, rub or secret recipe to win Best Pulled Pork, Best BBQ Chicken, Best Ribs, People\u2019s Choice Award and overall Grand Champion. The People\u2019s Choice Taste Test will be offered in two seatings for a $10 wristband that will include pulled pork samples, baked beans, coleslaw and a vote for the best pulled pork.
